WDV Welcomes New Athletics and Performing Arts Leaders

We are thrilled to welcome two new leaders to the team.

Nick “A.D.” Davidson has been selected as the new Director of Wiseburn Da Vinci Athletics. Alexi Paraschos serves as Coordinator of Wiseburn Da Vinci Performing Arts, a newly created position. In his new role, Alexi will lead the work of bringing performing arts opportunities, including theater, to all Da Vinci students in grades TK-12. Athletics and Arts are two meaningful ways that students from all Da Vinci schools come together.

Nick Davidson has over 20 years of experience as an athletic director, coach, teacher, trainer, and mentor. Nick joins at an exciting time for the Wiseburn Da Vinci Athletics Program as the WDV Wolves moved to the Pioneer League in 2022-23, which now offers Da Vinci student-athletes a more competitive experience, more consistent game schedules, additional team levels, shorter travel times, and more. With 30 teams participating in 12 CIF sports, student-athletes from all Da Vinci high schools come together to play collectively as the Wiseburn Da Vinci Wolves. WDV Athletics also offers two non-CIF sports.

Nick was selected from a pool of 48 candidates. The top candidates were interviewed by a joint Wiseburn Da Vinci Interview Panel composed of Wiseburn and Da Vinci administrators, community members, and coaches.

Prior to Da Vinci, Nick served as athletic director at Alain Locke College Preparatory Academy, Ribet Academy School, and New Roads School. Most recently, he worked with the City of Pasadena in the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department as a program and recreation site coordinator. He currently serves as a senior lead trainer for Positive Coaching Alliance, where he’s conducted 500+ workshops for leaders, coaches, parents, and student-athletes. Nick also has extensive community involvement through the BOSS Program, Black Women for Wellness, L.A. Watts Summer Games, Youth Mentoring Connection, the Special Olympics, and more.

Alexi Paraschos joined Da Vinci in January 2023 as the Wiseburn Da Vinci choir director and vocal music teacher. In May, 30+ high school students participated in the debut WDV Spring Concert, a standing-room only, rousing event with students singing and dancing to classics such as Lovely Day by Bill Withers, Rhythm Is Gonna Get You by Gloria Estefan, and Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey.

Originally from the Boston area, Alexi has a natural talent for singing, writing, and directing music with over 15 years of musical experience. He has a passion for sharing his love for music with students and has worked with a variety of ages and skill levels, including elementary, middle, and high school students. In addition to his most recent professional experience as a musical director, Alexi performed at SXSW 2017 and has been featured in numerous media outlets, including the New York Times, ThisisRnB.com, and soultracks.com. His music has been licensed for use in 14 television shows across seven major networks including A&E, MTV, VH1, and BET. In 2018, Alexi and his band executed an innovative, 10 city “East Coast Diner Tour,” putting on full, live concerts in mom-and-pop diners from Boston to Atlanta.

As the Wiseburn Da Vinci Athletics and Arts programs continue to grow, so does the excitement among our students. These new leaders represent a significant step forward for our WDV Athletics and Arts programs, and we are confident that Nick and Alexi will provide invaluable leadership and inspiration to our students. We look forward to the awesome experiences and achievements that await students under their guidance.
