225 High School Students Volunteer in Wiseburn This Semester
This semester, more than 225 Da Vinci high school students volunteered at Wiseburn school events, sharing their gifts, their time, their spirit, their smiles, and their hearts. Da Vinci students volunteered for tasks big and small, creating lasting memories for younger students and their families across the district.
From Spooktacular at Wiseburn Middle School which close to 200 Da Vinci student volunteers, to face painting at Hollyglen Elementary’s Holiday Bear Bazaar, our Da Vinci students showed up and made a big impact in our community. We are so grateful and proud of how powerfully and professionally our students represented our schools and our core values.
At Spooktacular on Oct. 25th, Da Vinci students and staff helped out in every aspect of the event, including the game stations, prize booths, food counters, candy booths, the maze, event setup and cleanup, facilities, and security. Thanks to the PTSA that ran the event, the community’s support, and the 200+ Da Vinci students and staff who volunteered, the PTSA at Wiseburn Middle School was able to raise additional funding that will be used to support the middle school students and robust learning experiences.
About 24 Da Vinci students volunteered at Del Aire Elementary’s two Del Aire Disco dances for students and families in grades TK-2 and 3-5. Da Vinci students helped with refreshments, games and general supervision. Our students had an awesome time helping the younger kids and getting to know our future students and families.
Hollyglen Elementary hosted its annual Holiday Bear Bazaar on Dec. 7. About 15 Da Vinci student volunteers did face painting, helped with refreshments, gift wrapping, craft making, and photography. The younger kids absolutely loved the face painting and spending time with our students. Our Da Vinci students are so talented and kind-hearted!
None of these events would be possible without the incredible support of our students, their parents, and their caregivers. Thank you to all of our students who took the time to volunteer at events within Wiseburn schools and the Wiseburn community. We also want to thank the parents and caregivers who help to transport the kids to and from volunteer events; many of these PTA fundraising events wouldn’t have been able to happen without you. And we’d like to thank all the school leaders, PTA leaders, educational leaders, and families who welcomed our students in and supported all the efforts to make these events special. We are so grateful to all of you.
