Summer Career Training Programs Provide Students with Exciting, Hands-On Experiences
What a summer it’s been!
From welding to artificial intelligence, business, aviation, space system design, robotics, graphic design, and more — it’s been an incredible summer at Da Vinci Schools!
About 200 middle and high school students explored potential career interests and gained hands-on, project-based experiences through Da Vinci’s first-ever Summer Career Training Programs. Da Vinci hosted Welding and Summer Trades Camp in partnership with Harbor Freight Tools for Schools, Business Camp in partnership with L.A. Urban League, Stellar Camp in partnership with the U.S. Air Force, Aviation in partnership with Giving Kids Wings Flight Academy, and FutureShock in partnership with Teach For America’s Reinvention Lab. This summer’s career training programs provided opportunities for students to explore career interests and gain workplace skills. Earlier this year, 13 Da Vinci alumni completed the Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program at Da Vinci, earning certifications that allow them to launch a career in nursing.
Da Vinci also hosted summer camps for 372 students in grades 2-9. Campers learned new skills and made new friends in Robotics, Graphic Design, Art, Ceramics, and Board Games camps. Summer camp is an awesome way to expose younger students and families to Da Vinci and our campus, while providing older Da Vinci students with leadership experience as mentors. We loved meeting new families in our local Wiseburn community and beyond.
Da Vinci also hosted summer experiences for current high school students in need of credit recovery or enrichment, Wolf Pack Days for new incoming 9th grade students, a welcome exhibition event for incoming Wiseburn Da Vinci student-athletes, and Project Lead The Way training for adult educators from across the country.
The new 2023-24 school year and our 15th Anniversary are just around the corner. We can’t wait to get started!
