Student Spotlight: Jordan Perdomo’s T-Shirt Design Reflects the Spirit of Da Vinci’s FUTURES Program

We’re excited to share the inspiring story of Jordan Perdomo, a student in Da Vinci’s FUTURES job skills program known as Wolves At Work, who recently took on the challenge of designing the class t-shirt. Jordan’s design was not only well received by his classmates but also became a hit when made available for purchase, further showcasing his creativity and dedication.

When Jordan set out to design the t-shirt, he wanted it to reflect both the FUTURES class and his own personal style. “When designing the shirt, I wanted it to be a good representation of the FUTURES class and me,” Jordan explained. “I chose bright colors that aren’t used by any other [Da Vinci] school, a fierce wolf, and a unique font. The message is that FUTURES students are bright, strong, and one-of-a-kind.”

Jordan’s design captures the spirit of the FUTURES program—celebrating individuality, strength, and creativity. With bold colors and a powerful wolf image, this shirt serves as a symbol of what it means to be part of a group that values each student’s unique qualities. Da Vinci FUTURES is a specialized instruction program serving students with moderate to high support needs in grades 9-12.

We are incredibly proud of Jordan for creating a design that truly represents the FUTURES program and the strength of all its members.

More from Jordan:

When the class was asked who wanted to design the t-shirt, no one volunteered, so Jordan decided to step up. “I felt like I wanted to be brave,” he said. “I wanted to show my creativity.”

Choosing a design was an exciting process, and the highlight for Jordan was selecting a bold wolf image for the shirt. “It was the most fun part of the project,” Jordan shared. “I just really liked the idea of having a strong, fierce image.”

However, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. The hardest part for Jordan was deciding on the color combination. After narrowing it down to three choices—blue and pink, blue and pink reversed, and orange and blue—Jordan involved the class in the decision. A vote was held, and the winning combination was a blue background with a pink logo. “I was really happy with what they selected,” Jordan reflected.

Now that the t-shirt is created, Jordan says it fills him with pride. “I feel proud of my work, and it makes me happy to see others wearing it.”

Thank you, Jordan, for your creativity, bravery, and pride in your work. Your efforts have made a lasting impact on our FUTURES class and the Da Vinci Community!

About the F.U.T.U.R.E.S Program

(A Focus on Unique Needs and Transition and Utilizing Resources in Educational Services)
The FUTURES program, a special education program, offers personalized instruction for students in 9th-12th grade with moderate to high support needs. It challenges students academically while providing the support they need to thrive and reach their full potential.

The program focuses on building independence, teaching life skills, and promoting self-advocacy. With an individualized curriculum, students are encouraged to express themselves through multi-modal communication. They develop skills that will help them in the workplace, at home, and in their communities, all while identifying their interests, preferences, and strengths.
