Nieema is a native of Los Angeles and joined the Da Vinci Design team this year (2016-2017) as a Resource Specialist. She received her B.A. in American Literature/ Culture and African American Studies from UCLA in 2002. Working at a nonpublic agency servicing students with moderate/severe Autism and other related disabilities helped to uncover a passion for teaching students with learning challenges, which propelled the pursuit and and receipt of her M.A. in Special Education and Education Specialist Credential (Mild/ Moderate) from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2011. It is a pleasure to work with high school students after working for several years with the middle school population. In her time away from teaching, she enjoys writing, shopping, watching documentaries, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
