Monique Aldrete is the College and Career Counselor at Da Vinci Communications. Born and raised in Boyle Heights, CA, she is a first-generation college graduate and has spent all of her life in Los Angeles. Because of her experience as a first-generation student, she found her passion in helping others navigate through the university system and providing them with financial resources. Empowering her community is a core value of hers and she strives to make sure that disadvantaged students have access to higher education. Monique graduated from UCLA with her B.A. in Sociology and Chicana/o Studies. She then graduated from Loyola Marymount University with her M.A. in School Counseling and PPS Credential. Monique hopes to empower and educate students at DVC about post-high school opportunities in order to ensure every student has a plan after high school, whether it is going to college or starting a career.
Outside of work, Monique loves to spend time with her family and her fur babies, Rex and Cali. She also enjoys going to baseball games (Go Dodgers!), traveling to new cities and going to Disneyland.
