Michelle Rainey has spent the past 25 years in progressive, responsive schools in Southern California. She currently serves as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Previously, she served as Executive Director at Da Vinci Connect and has been a founding staff member at four schools including three Da Vinci Schools. She has enjoyed her various roles in education including English teacher, Instructional Coach and Principal. Michelle attended UCLA, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in English and Masters in Education and is in progress with her doctoral degree in UCLA’s Educational Leadership Program. Michelle is National Board Certified in ELA/AYA. When she’s not working, you can find Michelle listening to Crime Junkie podcasts, crocheting, cross stitching, walking her unruly Malamutes, and playing with her daughters’ pet rats.
