Katherine Simon grew up and attended college in southern Virginia before moving to Los Angeles. She holds a BS in Civil Engineering, a BS in Business Marketing, and a minor in Studio Art and Design from Old Dominion University. She worked as a Civil Engineer at URS Corporation and then in vendor management at Amazon Corporate before realizing her passion lies in education, specifically Architectural Design and Arts education. She holds a Career Technical Education credential in Art, Architecture, Business, and Engineering. Katherine currently teaches Intermediate Architecture and Advanced Architecture at Da Vinci Design. These courses are rigorous in exploring design theory and incorporating current industry technology. Katherine was recently approved to be an adjunct professor for El Camino Community College and her students participate in a dual enrollment program where they can earn up to six college credits upon completion of the classes. She really enjoys bringing creativity and real world application into the classroom. In her free time she is a professional freelance artist and also enjoys traveling. Katherine is thrilled to be a part of the Da Vinci community and excited to be teaching subjects that she is so passionate about!
