Ferihana Ribakov is honored to carry forward a family legacy in education. Her mother was an elementary school teacher, and her father a professor of philology. Her older brother, Eri, and her husband, Kurt, continue to inspire Ferihana to advocate for those in need. She graduated from Cal State Los Angeles with a degree in Social Studies/Political Science, making the Dean’s List for two consecutive years. Following her calling to Special Education, she earned a Preliminary Moderate/Severe Teaching Credential through LACOE’s rigorous two-year program—a journey that deepened her dedication to supporting students with unique needs.
In her career as an educator, she has had the privilege of working with an incredibly diverse group of students, including those with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, intellectual and emotional disabilities, and nonverbal communication needs. She began her career with Da Vinci Communications during online learning, later transitioning to in-person guidance, where she has supported students through their graduation journeys. Each experience has strengthened her commitment to individualized learning and inclusive education. Through ongoing research and innovative strategies, Ferihana strives to ensure each student in our FUTURES Program receives the tools and encouragement they need to thrive.
