Diem-Mi (“yee-mee”) was born in Vietnam and raised in California. She discovered the arts in high school. Diem-Mi earned her BA from SDSU in Environmental Design, with graduate coursework in architecture at SCI-Arc. She has a MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from the CIIS. Diem-Mi practiced professional architecture and graphic design in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
In 2014, Diem-Mi transitioned from professional design to teaching. She earned her art credential from CSULB and a national certification in Waldorf Practical Arts, while teaching at Ocean Charter School.
Diem-Mi is currently pursuing her CTE credentials in Architecture and Media Arts. She has three children: Misha, a junior at UCSC; Micah, a DVC senior; and Mikeila, a DVC sophomore. In her spare time, Diem-Mi enjoys her big family, yoga, cooking and travel.
