Charlotte Deardorff holds a B.S. in Food Science and Chemical Engineering from CSULB and an Associate’s in Mathematics from LBCC. She studied abroad in Barbados, exploring its sugar cane industry and rum distilling. Charlotte’s career began in a food safety lab, followed by a role as a microbiologist at a tofu manufacturing company. From 2018 to 2023, she tutored math students at LBCC. In 2024, she began teaching chemistry in Compton, California, while pursuing a teaching credential. As a woman in STEM, Charlotte is passionate about representation and inspiring underrepresented groups to pursue science and engineering. She believes science, like magic, can make the impossible seem possible.
