Da Vinci Connect TK-8 Students Embrace Their Talent and Share Their Passion in Talent Showcase

An evening of talent and passion was celebrated at Da Vinci Connect’s Third Annual Talent Showcase on May 17.

At near capacity, the Black Box Theater became a home away from home to our TK through 8th grade students who demonstrated their creativity through song, dance, martial arts, technical arts, and fine arts. Audience members also were wow’ed by the grace and poise exhibited by several talented musicians playing piano and violin.

Over the past three years, the show has grown tremendously in anticipation and participation. At last year’s showcase, we had one parent accompany his young songstress and this year there were three parents who graced the stage in support of their children. Of course, none of this would be possible without the assistance of our Family Action Network (parent volunteers) who not only helped with the preparation of the event but also with the numerous rehearsals.

“I believe our K8 students and families understand the true value of creative collaboration, and the Annual Talent Showcase has become the perfect opportunity for students to co-create an ensemble performance experience,” said Jahmal Durham, Da Vinci Connect’s K8 Activities Coordinator.

The Showcase was a technical success as much as an artistic success. Each year the technical experience gets better and better. Many thanks to the wonderful helping hands of our IT teammates (big thanks to Kevin Hunley), student theater tech support by Eelijah and Rayan, as well as our loving Theater Arts instructor Diane Feldman, and our Performing Art Coordinator Alexi Paraschos – all of whom created a blueprint for our stage audio and sound needs! We couldn’t have done it without you!

YES “Connect’s Got Talent” – because of both our talented students and the dedicated adults who support them!!
