Advancing Career-Connected Learning with Education Leaders from Across the Country
Earlier this month, Da Vinci Schools brought together leading educators, higher education partners, and innovation change agents from 30+ different participating schools and organizations for a gathering on career-connected learning, in partnership with Transcend Education. The event was hosted by Da Vinci Institute.
The 3-day conference included Da Vinci school tours and 30+ workshops focused on project-based learning, using AI to personalize projects, helping students find their purpose and pick a career path, and more. There were two keynote speakers: Tom Vander Ark, nationally renowned author and speaker who spoke about the need to create valuable career-connected learning experiences in high school (see link to video here); and Dr. Mary Helen Immordino-Yang, professor of education, psychology, and neuroscience at USC, who spoke about how to help students find their purpose and launch into successful careers. You can read more about the conference in this Getting Smart article.
The world of work is changing more rapidly than ever. At Da Vinci, we strive to build a career-connected learning environment where students forge real-world connections and build vital job skills so they can launch into a career path to economic mobility. We do this through authentic real-world learning experiences, career exploration, career pathway classes, helping students to discover their strengths and passions, forging strong partnerships with local industry leaders, and much more.
Conference participants came from across the country, including New York, Indiana, here in the South Bay, and beyond.
