Jan. 9, 2025 — We send love and condolences to all of our community members affected by the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. These fires have led to evacuations, property loss, and significant disruptions for many families. This notification is designed to ensure that our Da Vinci community has access to where to find live updates and any needed resources during this time.

School and Community Resources:

  • School Closures: Some schools in affected areas may be closed due to safety concerns. Please check with your local school district for the latest information.
  • Community Shelters: Evacuation centers have been established for displaced families. Contact local authorities or visit official websites for locations and availability.

Health and Safety Recommendations:

  1. Stay Informed: Monitor local news outlets and official sources for the latest updates on evacuation orders and air quality advisories.

  2. Air Quality Precautions: Due to smoke and ash, air quality may be poor. Limit outdoor activities, keep windows and doors closed, and consider using air purifiers if available. If you have N95 masks, use them to protect against smoke inhalation.

  3. Emergency Preparedness: Ensure your family has an emergency plan in place. This includes having a “go-bag” with essential items, knowing evacuation routes, and establishing a communication plan with all family members.

  4. Support for Children: Children may experience anxiety or confusion during such events. Maintain open communication, provide age-appropriate information, and reassure them of their safety.
