Jamie Taube has been the Physics teacher at Da Vinci Science since 2013. She grew up in Santa Barbara, California and competed on the volleyball and swim teams in high school. Her next step was UCLA (Go Bruins!) where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Earth & Environmental Science with a Spanish minor. At UCLA, Jamie participated in the CALTeach program, where she had the opportunity to teach students in LAUSD science classrooms. During undergrad, Jamie studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain, where she took advanced Spanish courses in an intensive summer program. She then earned her M.Ed. and Science teaching credential through the Stanford Teacher Education Program. Jamie is a 250-hr certified yoga instructor and leads the yoga seminar on campus. Jamie also serves as the WDV girls and boys volleyball coach. Jamie advises the Society of Women Engineers club and feels strongly about encouraging more girls to pursue STEM careers. In her free time, Jamie enjoys hiking, playing beach volleyball, and doing yoga. She feels lucky to be teaching with individuals who always look for ways to improve in order to better serve our kids.
