Carolyn Ruiz is honored to be part of students’ journeys as a school counselor. Her goal is to help students maximize their post high school options by supporting students to become resourceful and resilient. Ms. Ruiz earned her BA in Sociology from UCSD with minors in Human Development, Latin American Studies, and Education and a MS Ed in Counseling Psychology from USC. Prior to joining the Da Vinci family, she taught English in Japan, worked at USC as an undergraduate academic advisor for the Department of Biological Sciences and the School of International Relations, and as a middle school counselor in Berkeley. Outside of school she is in constant search of inspiration through food, travel, and laughter. She is hard pressed to find a donut she did not like.
