The Da Vinci Honors Program provides highly motivated high school students with the opportunity to work closely with professors and other motivated students in advanced levels of critical thinking, analysis, and research in their classes. While the provisions for honors programs will vary from class to class, students will earn honors credit when each of these requirements is met:

* Earn a semester grade of 85% or higher in the course
* At the end of each semester students must pass with a 70% or higher comprehensive written final exam per discipline: math, science, English, and social science
* At the end of the year students will be required to take a year-long comprehensive written final exam per discipline

During the 2011-2012 school year, we are offering several AP seminar classes, including World History and Spanish.

It is important to note that many college and universities do not take honors courses into consideration during the ninth grade year and no more than two honors level courses are accounted for in the tenth grade. The CSUs and UCs along with many private institutions assign extra points for up to eight semesters of approved honors level or college level courses taken in the last three years of high school.
