It is a pleasure and a privilege to welcome you to Da Vinci Schools!

Da Vinci Schools operate two small, college-preparatory public charter high schools, Da Vinci Science and Da Vinci Design, opened in August 2009, and a
K-8 blended learning model opened in 2011, Da Vinci Innovation Academy. Da Vinci Schools are located in the South Bay of Los Angeles at the corners of El Segundo, Hawthorne, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach. In August 2013, we will open a new high school/university "hybrid" culminating in a degree.

Community is what makes Da Vinci Schools a remarkable place, so whether you are a prospective family, current family, staff member, board member, community partner, neighbor or friend, your interest and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated.

Our dynamic, WASC accredited schools have six distinct strengths:

• A hands-on, project-based curriculum that emphasizes depth over breadth, engages students' interests and motivates them to learn
• A small and personalized learning environment where every student is known, seen and valued
• Strategic public-private partnerships with many corporate and educational institutions
• A Work Experience Program in which high school students gain on-the-job, real-world work experience
• Early College classes where students take college classes for credit (at no charge to them) while they simultaneously earn their high school diploma
• A deep commitment to extensive professional development and continuous growth by all

These strengths translate into college-ready results. We are enormously proud of the Class of 2013, 78% of whom were admitted to a 4-year university, and 98% of whom are on track to successfully complete their UC and CSU "a-g" course requirements. We take great pride in our promise that every Da Vinci student will graduate college-ready, career-prepared and community-minded.
