Da Vinci Schools Awarded STEM "Energy for Learning" Grant by Chevron

May 2011

Da Vinci Schools are proud to announce that we have been awarded a significant "Energy for Learning" grant by Chevron as part of its $2 million investment in South Bay schools to power funding for science, technology, engineering and technology education. This is the second consecutive year that Da Vinci Schools have been awarded a Chevron grant.

Chevron's gift will be used to create the Chevron Energy Center to provide project-based curriculum emphasizing the chemistry fundamentals of fossil fuels and alternative energy sources. The gift will be used to provide state-of-the-art lab equipment where students will learn chemistry content through investigations similar to those that might be conducted in the professional chemical engineering industry, including Chevron’s own labs.

The grants are part of Chevron’s California Partnership, an initiative targeting investments in education and economic development to prepare the next generation workforce for increasingly technical careers.
